Twisted Sister is reuniting almost two years after their latest appearance in Metal Hall Of Fame.
In a new interview with The Hook Rocks, Twisted Sister rocker confirmed that they might get back together. Apparently, there already have been some talks and the band got some offers they can’t refuse. He explained:
“Is it there yet? No. Is it getting close? Yeah. Is there talk amongst us, like, ‘Well, in the event that the numbers do get there, and they sure as hell seem to be going in that direction, how are we gonna do this?’ So there’s a little bit of that conversation. And that’s both physically how we’re gonna do it and on a number of other levels. And that’s a recent occurrence, that the conversation has gone from ‘never’ to ‘in the event that they make as an offer we can’t refuse, what’s the plan?’ And there’s some very general discussion on that, involving personal trainers [laughs], diets, hair extensions. And that’s the first time in eight years that the conversation has changed.”
The Band’s Reuniting… For What?
Last year, Snider revealed that the band would get back together in 2024, but just for political rallies and to belt out their famous 1984 hit, ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It.’ In a chat with Yahoo! Entertainment, he said:
“Next year, you’re gonna see some Twisted Sister reunions at different political rallies that need our support. The band has a concern that the song is being co-opted by the extreme right… and we want to make sure that people still know it’s a song for everybody and it does not represent that selfish micro group.”
He added:
“It is really for the mass people, the moderate people, the people that just want to live their lives, be themselves and not have people tell ’em they can’t be themselves. So, I think you’ll see us at political rallies and stuff like that. We’ll be out there next year.”
Will They Ever Retire?
The short answer is no because the band doesn’t believe in such a thing. In a separate interview, Snider referenced Mötley Crüe and Ozzy Osbourne’s retirements and returns. He said he was tired of seeing rockers retire and then come back a few years later:
“You know, I’ve said when people retire, they should leave the stage, and all those bands, I’m tired of buying ‘No More Tours’ shirts and seeing people signing contracts in blood and then they show up three years later. I don’t believe in that bullshit, so I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
The rocker also added that fans shouldn’t expect to see new performances. But looking at the more recent interviews, it’s possible to hear about the reunion shows soon.
