In a new interview with RockCellar, former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach shared his thoughts on the claim that rock and roll is dead.
“My video has over 1.5 million views. None of that applies to me. None of it,” the rocker responded when asked if he thinks rock is ‘on the wane.’ “I just played 45 cities and I’m about to do another 45 cities. If that’s rock being dead, take me out in the back and shoot me.”
The video Bach mentioned in the interview is the music video for the track ‘What Do I Got To Lose?’ from the new album, ‘Child Within The Man.’
The title of the album was inspired by an inside joke between Bach and his wife. “Well, my wife calls me man-child. That’s kind of been a theme for me my whole career,” the singer explained during an interview with Full Metal Jackie. “I bring a youthful energy to the stage when I get up there. People are smiling and excited and hooting and hollering.”
“But the line ‘child within the man’ is a line of one of the songs on the record. And I scream it like bloody murder. And it kept haunting me,” he added.
Bach is now on tour in support of ‘Child Within The Man.’ The tour kicked off on October 4th in Portland, Oregon, and includes two performances at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, along with 16 dates across Canada. It’s scheduled to end on November 20 in Roseville, California.
