Lindsay Lohan returns to Netflix this festive season with another original Christmas-set romantic comedy, with the streamer ringing in the holiday season with Our Little Secret on Nov 27. Our Little Secret is written by Hailey DeDominicis and directed by Stephen Herek. This will be Lohan’s third rom-com on the platform, with the actress starring in 2022’s Falling for Christmas and earlier this year her latest movie, Irish Wish, garnered some online buzz. The actress is steadily becoming a feature in Netflix’s rom-com lineup, with these performances, as well as Lohan’s upcoming films, contributing to the child starlet’s comeback. While promoting Our Little Secret, Lohan shared in a statement:
“It’s so beautiful to be able to do films that are associated with holidays because it’s family time. When you can make a movie that families can remember and come together to see, it makes it all the more special”
Lohan also shares the screen again with another co-star in Our Little Secret, as Mean Girls actor, Tim Meadows, also stars in the film. Lohan and Meadows have “kept in touch” over the years, and on working with Lohan again nearly 20 years after the iconic teen classic, Meadows said, “It was really lovely to see her again. The surprise to me was just how we both enjoyed each other’s company. And she asked me to take a photo together first!” Lohan, meanwhile, called it a full circle moment, saying:
“Tim is just such a wonderful human being. I just love being around him. We had a few moments where I could not stop laughing.”
What is Our Little Secret All About?
Netflix has also now released the first photos from the film (which you can check out above). As well as Lindsay Lohan and Tim Meadows, Our Little Secret stars Tony-award-winner, Kristin Chenoweth, Ian Harding (Pretty Little Liars) and Dan Bucatinsky (Scandal). The film’s premise centers around two resentful exes, Avery (Lohan) and Logan (Harding), forced to spend Christmas together after they realize their new partners are siblings.
Netflix describes Lohan and Harding as the “heart of the film,” with their characters, Avery and Logan, sharing a deep connection despite having been separated for some time at the start of the film. Harding expanded on their relationship saying, “Logan remembers and adores a lot of what makes Avery, well, Avery.”
Chenoweth reigns as the matriarch of all this yuletide mess, with the actress and singer saying of her role, “There’s a lot of surprise family six-degrees-of-separation issues ahead, which is fun to play.” Lohan reflected on her previous roles and ever-growing catalog at Netflix while discussing Avery’s character in Our Little Secret and how she had the opportunity to flex some of her comedic skills. Lohan described Avery as “a girl soul-searching on a journey of love.”
