John Ortiz, currently seen on Apple TV’s comedic crime drama Bad Monkey, has joined the cast of Nobody 2, the sequel to the 2021 surprise hit produced by 87North.
Bob Odenkirk is reprising his role as mild-mannered family man who is secretly a former government assassin. The call sheet also includes Connie Nielsen, Sharon Stone, Christopher Lloyd and Colin Hanks.
Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, known for his horror and action fare such as May the Devil Take You and segments of the V/H/S installments, is directing the feature that is currently in production in Winnipeg.
Plot details are being kept in the basement vault. The screenplay is by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Umair Aleem and Odenkirk.
Universal plans to release Nobody 2 in theaters on Aug. 15, 2025.
Odenkirk is producing the action thriller along with Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, who are producing via 87North and their first-look deal with the studio. Marc Provissiero (No Hard Feelings) of Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Braden Aftergood of Eighty Two Films are producing as well.
Ortiz was last seen on the big screen in Chris Pine’s The Poolman and opposite Jeffrey Wright in the Oscar-winning American Fiction.
Ortiz is repped by Gersh, Principal Entertainment LA and Schreck Rose.
