Netflix has revealed our first look at the upcoming horror movie outing, Don’t Move, as part of Netflix Geeked Week. And its premise is killer. Told in real-time, the trailer reveals that the horror outing will follow a woman who finds herself in the woods with a stranger – never a good place to be in a horror flick – who injects her with a paralytic agent. Now, she only has just 20 minutes to find help before she becomes the stranger’s latest victim.

“A grieving woman in a secluded forest encounters a killer who injects her with a paralytic drug. As her body shuts down, her fight for survival begins.”
Directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, and written by T.J. Cimfel and David White, Don’t Move stars Kelsey Asbille (Yellowstone, Fargo), Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story: Hotel, The Big Short), Moray Treadwell (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Downton Abbey), and Daniel Francis (Bridgerton, Small Axe). The horror/thriller also counts Evil Dead and Drag Me to Helldirector Sam Raimi as a producer, with his inclusion promising some serious horror delights when Don’t Move debuts on Netflix next month.
Don’t Move Will Debut on Netflix on October 25
Directors Brian Netto and Adam Schindler and writers T.J. Cimfel and David White conceived of Don’t Move together, with the creative group wanting to tell the story in real-time. “The challenge we said to them was, ‘We would love for it to be real time,’” Netto said to Netflix Tudum. “We love films that do that.” Don’t Move will have a runtime of around 85 minutes, forcing the audience to follow the main character all the way through this terrifying position she finds herself in. Star Finn Wittrock said of the real-time approach…
“You feel like you are literally along for this ride moment by moment. That’s something I hadn’t really seen before in a movie, especially something like this with this sort of level of darkness.”
Telling this harrowing story in real-time will no doubt result in the audience experiencing every impossible obstacle alongside the character, who will find herself increasingly struggling to fight against the paralysis that gradually takes over her body. “It’s a propulsive, stripped-down thriller that manages to feel very personal at times,” lead star Kelsey Asbille said. “That’s what resonated with me, fighting desperately to overcome something that has left you feeling paralyzed.”
To keep the movie as gripping as the premise throughout, and to keep audiences captivated (and suitably scared), Netto and Schindler tasked the writers with “painting themselves into a corner.”
“Every sequence we’re like, ‘OK, how do we make it tougher on her? How do you paint yourself into a corner? And then how do you get yourself out of that?’ ”
Don’t Move
is all set to land on Netflix on October 25, 2024. Just in time for Halloween.
