Fall is right around the corner, and with it comes colder nights, hot cocoa, and the perfect opportunity to curl up under a blanket and watch some scary programming. After all, it’s not called spooky season for nothing, and what better way to ease into the holiday of ghosts, ghouls, and goblins than with Netflix? The streamer is back again this year delivering a full lineup of frights for its annual Netflix & Chills celebration, which looks to deliver a fresh new slate of original movies and TV shows all throughout the month of October.
Werewolves, serial killers, alien abductions, dangerous games that promise dire consequences, and a lot more — including some family-safe programs — make up this year’s crop of scary offerings from the streaming giant, which kicks off its annual bash today, September 13, with a foreign mystery inspired by a true story. Sector 36 – September 13

A modern, blended family gets sucked into a game of Werewolves, time-traveling back to the Middle Ages. In order to survive and return to the 21st century, they must figure out the rules and work together to eliminate their foes. The Last Night at Tremore Beach – October 23
A musician and composer in crisis retreats to a coastal village in the north to finish his latest work. His only neighbors for miles around are a married couple living in the next house. After a serious accident during a storm, the musician begins to experience some terrifying visions about his neighbors.

A teenage girl travels back to the early 2000s to stop a vicious killer from murdering her sister.
Murder Mindfully – October 31
Top-flight lawyer Björn Diemel unexpectedly becomes a murderer when he takes a mindfulness seminar to create a better work-life balance, spend more quality time with his daughter, and — hopefully — save his marriage. The seminar does what it promised — although not in the way he imagined. In the wake of his newly learned mindfulness techniques, his brutal and careless mafia boss client Dragan Sergowicz bites the dust. But few know that a filmmaker was embedded at the heart of the Manhattan abduction and filmed it all. With access to hundreds of hours of never-before-seen footage, this is the real-life X-Files, caught on camera.
As you can see, there’s no shortage of chills and thrills being offered by Netflix this year, and in addition to its original programming, you can also enjoy some old favorites that are being added to the streamer on October 1, including the 2018 reboot of Halloween, Andy Muschietti’s conclusion to his Stephen King adaptation, IT: Chapter 2, and Christina Ricci’s thriller series Yellowjackets.
