Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood has revealed that the band has recently been back to rehearsing together.
He shared this update during a video call at the Hay Festival Querétaro on September 8. “We did some rehearsals about two months ago in London, just played the old songs, and it was really fun. I had a really good time,” Greenwood explained. The news came after Oasis’ reunion announcements.
Greenwood gave the fans some hope after his brother, Jonny Greenwood mentioned in May that the members were busy with separate projects. “We’re still talking all the time, we just need to make a plan and get some time together sorted out in advance,” he said. “I’ve never been very good at that. Too busy d*cking around in this studio.”
Back in November, Philip Selway hinted that Radiohead might be getting ready to reunite. However, Ed O’Brien said he was ‘deep into’ working on his next solo album earlier this year.
Colin Greenwood will be playing live with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds on their UK and European tour for their new album, ‘Wild God.’
In the meantime, Radiohead side project The Smile—featuring Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and Sons Of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner—has announced their new album, ‘Cutouts,’ which will come out on October 4. They also dropped two new singles, ‘Foreign Spies’ and ‘Zero Sum.’ ‘Cutouts’ will be their third album, following ‘Wall Of Eyes,’ released earlier this year.
Radiohead’s last studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool, came out in 2016, and their most recent tour was in 2018.
