    The Black Crowes Announce New Tour Plans Without Aerosmith

    The Black Crowes will continue touring without Aerosmith.

    “The Bastards Are Back!!” the band announced on X. “Announcing NEW dates added to The Happiness Bastards Tour (The Reprise) this fall! Get presale tickets and VIP packages for the newly added shows tomorrow 8/21 @ 10 am local time with code CROWEMAFIA. Tickets on sale this Friday.”

    Aerosmith announced in early August that they’re retiring from touring and canceling their farewell tour because Steven Tyler’s vocal cords are injured. “We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when performing,” the band said in a statement. “As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury.”

    They continued, “We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.”

    The Black Crowes would go out with Aerosmith as a special guest on their Peace Out tour but they now have new tour dates. “We are shocked and saddened by this news from earlier today. Nothing but love and respect to our friends in Aerosmith,” the group wrote on X after the news. “Heartfelt thanks for all of the incredible memorie The #HappinessBastardsTour (The Reprise) WILL STILL ROLL ON THIS FALL with more dates now to be added!”

    “Steven Tyler, to me, has always been the ultimate singer, lyricist, and showman, but personally, he’s a man who helped me at the beginning of my sobriety,” Nikki Sixx wrote after Aerosmith’s retirement. “I’ve been lucky to become a peer, a friend, and always a fan of this great American rock ‘n’ roll band. Thank you, Aerosmith, for everything.”

    Back in May, Tyler joined The Black Crowes in London for a surprise performance of Aerosmith’s ‘Mama Kin.’ Tyler had looked and sounded ready for the road but the frontman won’t continue touring due to his health issues.
