In a new interview with Loudwire Nights, Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti gave new details about the album. But he also revealed that their busy schedule could delay it.
“I just finished recording a solo record, that’s mixed and mastered,” Tremonti said of the upcoming album. “And I’m already writing an Alter Bridge record. And in the meantime, I’ll be writing songs that could be future, upcoming Creed stuff. Who knows? It’s just nonstop.”
We now know a thing or two about the upcoming album — such as what it might possibly sound like.
“I had a whole record on my hands for Creed before we parted ways in 2012… If we start over and just dove in again, we could do better,” Tremonti said during an earlier interview. “I think it’d be good to try to get back to that original sound,” he added.
However, other members have been feeling pressure about new songs. “I didn’t feel any particular pressure to write a particular kind of song,” singer Scott Stapp revealed while talking about the pressure of writing their hit album ‘Weathered.’ “I don’t think we ever thought that way; we just wrote what we felt. We just got together and created whatever came out, and we put on a record if we liked it. And for me, lyrically, ‘One Last Breath’ fit exactly where I was at the time.”
He added: “I don’t think the pressure was so much about, ‘We need to write another hit.’ The pressure was constantly being put on us to just keep putting out records and keep touring.”
In other news, Creed shared a new music video for their 25-year-old track ‘Are You Ready?’ from the album ‘Human Clay.’ The band shared the clip to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their hit album. The live music video was filmed during the first week of the band’s sold-out ‘Summer Of ’99’ tour. The video for ‘Are You Ready?’ shows the band’s big return to the stage after 12 years.
