Jamie Lee Curtis is celebrating the body-swapping last Friday of filming on Freakier Friday. The Oscar winner posted on social media that the long-awaited Disney sequel, which reunites Curtis with her on-screen daughter, Lindsay Lohan, will officially wrap after a “couple days” of work next week. Curtis was also very complimentary of Lohan, whom she starred with over 20 years ago in the Freaky Friday (2003) remake. Curtis wrote (via Instagram):
“The last FRIDAY of this FREAKIEST FRIDAY
or shall I call it CRYDAY.
We still have a couple days left next week,
but it’s winding down and this morning as I arrived at work
and looked at the hundreds of people gathering together to make it for the fans, shooting the movie in California…”
Curtis, who finally won her first Oscar (Best Supporting Actress) at the Academy Awards ceremony back in 2023 for her extraordinary work in Everything Everywhere All at Once — and who will forever be the Final Girl face of the Halloween film franchise — praised her Freakier Friday co-star in the same social media post:
“I’m feeling especially grateful to my ULTIMATE movie daughter, @lindsaylohan without whom we could not have made this movie.
Ever. She gifted me a
@suziekondi shirt
after I complimented her on hers and I wore it today in honor of her. Off to wig and work.
Thanks for all the @disneyd23 LOVE! It was LEGENDARY!”

Freakier Friday Star Dishes About Body Swapping Again
It doesn’t seem all that long since production started on Freakier Friday for Jamie Lee Curtis and her co-star, Lindsay Lohan, back in June. But none of this would be possible, of course, had it not been for the imagination of author Mary Rodgers, who penned the 1972 children’s novel, Freaky Friday. In 1976, Disney released its first adaptation of Freaky Friday, which recreated the body-swapping adventures of teenager Annabel Andrews (Jodie Foster) and her mother Ellen (Barbara Harris).
And while liberties were certainly taken with the 2003 reboot, particularly the changing of the characters’ names to Tess and Anna Coleman, Curtis and Lohan’s Freaky Friday was a bona fide hit around the globe. The comedy made $160.8 million (per Box Office Mojo) against a $20 million budget. And Lohan is very excited about her big-screen reunion in Freakier Friday. The actress dished on the upcoming film in an interview with ABC News’ Nightline (below):
“It’s going to be a really freaky Friday [laughs]… much freakier than you would expect.
Oh, it’s fantastic. I mean, we all just have so much fun. And it’s so great to have that on set… you just always want to have a really good time.
So, it’s a lot of love, a lot of fun, a lot of laughs. It’s a great experience.I think really for me was when I went onto the Disney lot.
And being back on the Disney lot because that’s not just Freaky Friday for me.
That’s The Parent Trap, that’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, that’s Herbie…”

Freaky Friday Stars Tease Manny Jacinto’s Role in the Sequel
Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reveal which character Manny Jacinto will play in the sequel to Freaky Friday, Freakier Friday.
Lohan continued:
“It’s so many moments for me.
So, when I got there, I kind of felt like the essence of a little kid again.
Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years.
You know how they say when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close with?
If you cannot see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it’s like you never separated.”
